Mayborn branches out to UNT Frisco and offers BA in Journalism with a PR concentration from the comfort of Collin County.

Frisco is the new home for a Mean Green campus and for many programs including the course from the Mayborn.

Frisco, TX. The city donated land in its promising division to the University of North Texas to build its new campus. The location for the Frisco campus will be off of Preston Road and Panther Creek Parkway across 100 acres of land with a $100 million investment for the
construction of this new campus.

“You’ve got a group of folks who have envisioned that we want to bring high-value jobs to our city,” said Wesley Randall, Ph.D., dean of UNT at Frisco.

As part of the curriculum at the new UNT Frisco campus, Mayborn is offering the BA in Journalism program with a Public Relations concentration and a minor in Consumer Experience Management. The Frisco campus is focused on building a stronger workforce in the DFW metroplex as it offers many other technical degrees as well. It is very consumer-centric.

“All of our students need to understand communication. They need to understand human-to-human connection,” Randall said. “They need to have storytelling. Why? Because they need to have the ability to inspire change or to advocate where change is needed.”

UNT Frisco is an initiative of the university to branch out and be closer to some of the more local students in Collin County with the Mean Green experience close to home.
